| The blog of the foolish mortal in the bowler hat. I tend to post art related things, some TF2, and beyond that fairly random stuff.
If you dislike tf2, hats, geekery, skeletons or slash - you will probably dislike this blog.
My Artwork My Team Fortress 2 art Smoke Gets in Your Eyes - long running SpyxEngie fic I'm working on. The Foolish Mortal can also find be on Livejournal Deviant Art Foolish Mortal.com Foolish Mortal Store |
Just goofing off.
A website with lots of very high resolution textures. For those of you who like to use that sort of thing in your artwork.
I personally am a bit of a whore for good textures I can use. So I thought I’d share.
Finally finished this one. Huzzah.
Something random I drew as a warm up today. Gotta respect a woman who can flaunt it and hold her head up high despite having really deformed feet.
Finally got something large finished for the first time in what feels like eternity. Feels so good, I should do this more often.
Been kicking this around for a couple of weeks. Was originally a concept for a convention t-shirt (they wanted something Dr Strangelove-ish with some Fallout thrown in) but they went with someone else. By then I was already attached so this got the full color workout.
Feel free to point and laugh at my bad lettering job on the Russian there. From my vague understanding - the word on the bomb is in fact the sound of a bomb exploding or alternatively the sound of something heavy falling and breaking. The bit on the tail is a bad translation of my studio name. I think roughly translated it means “foolish dead(ly).”
I hope to get more stuff off of the “work in progress” pile soon, but I gotta wrap up some commission stuff before I can make major progress on that front.
Not having a good week - my mom had open heart surgery last week and is still recovering in the hospital. Much of my time has been spent trying to keep my sanity intact, sleeping, at work or at the hospital or driving.
With that said - here are some fail drawings just to prove I ain’t dead. They aren’t very good but at this point I’ll take what I can get.
So here are -
One very off model Engie and a very badly drawn guitar. Oddly I’ve found him the hardest of the tf2 cast to draw so far - especially since I insist on trying to draw him without his hat and goggles. Because when you take his goggles off he looks like another person entirely.
The early early rough “pencils” for another insect commission. This one is supposed to be a praying mantis in the end. Like I’ve said before I am a very sloppy artist, I work very broad, very rough very fast and then sort of refine it and whittle it down to something that looks less like ass.
And finally some rough things I was drawing/coloring as a distraction.
With that I’m now going to try to sleep.
And now it’s time for another weird random image. A girl drawing a labyrinth in her blood. The girl is actually a recurring character in my weird random art cast called Witchchild that tends to do this sort of thing, though I never know more than that.
Not sure what the point of this is - but I might refine this some more and make a watercolor painting out of it.
Now I have no idea where exactly I was going with these.
Shit…
And now something a wee bit more respectable. Not yet done on this one, but close…oh so close.
I have no idea what I’m doing.
Edit - hours later

I still have no idea what I’m doing.
